School Policies

Uniform Policy

PS 298 is a uniform school. Students are expected to wear the school uniform every day, including on trips unless families are told otherwise. Uniform details, where to purchase, and support for families who need help with uniforms are available from the main office at (718) 495-7793 or from our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Blair, at nblair5@schools.nyc.gov.

Attendance Policy

Every day of learning matters. Students are expected to be in school every day, on time, from 8:00 AM to 2:20 PM. If your child will be absent, please call the main office at (718) 495-7793 and send a note with your child on the day they return. Students who miss 10% or more of school days are considered chronically absent, and the school will reach out to support the family. Families can check attendance any time in their NYC Schools Account (NYCSA).

Personal Electronics Policy

Per New York State law, all New York City schools must adhere to a personal electronics-free policy, including cell phones, smart watches, iPads, etc. Linked below is the policy specific to our school, which outlines how electronics brought from home will be collected and returned at the end of the day, consequences if students are found to have devices in their possession, exceptions, and other information.
